What does gap certificates mean

SwissGAP

When will I be checked?

Your registration will be communicated to the responsible control body. This tries to coordinate the SwissGAP control with other controls (ÖLN, Bio, Suisse Garantie, etc.). The inspection body or the inspector will contact you in due course to arrange an inspection appointment.

There should be no SwissGAP controls as long as the company is not ready.

At the time of the first inspection:

  • The records are available for at least the last 3 months
  • The annual self-check must be carried out with the checklist
  • at least one culture registered for SwissGAP or one registered harvested product must be present on the farm.
To be available means: in the field, in storage (not just for personal use or direct sales) or in the processing process.
In the case of permanent crops (fruits: everything except strawberries; vegetables: rhubarb, white and green asparagus), an inspection during the growing season is desirable, but generally possible all year round.

Where can I download the company-specific checklist for self-assessment?

On the occasion of the online registration, the company can enter information about its company via the 'general declaration', which is then used to create the company-specific checklist with pre-answered questions.

Companies that have already registered can of course also use this option by registering as an existing user with their e-mail and the chosen password. And add the necessary information under 'Enter flat-rate declaration'. After recording, the company-specific checklist can be printed out for self-monitoring.
