Exploring shipwrecks

The important things first. Before you can start hunting for buried treasure chests, you first need a treasure map that will guide you to their exact location. These cards can be found on shipwrecks.

At the time of writing, shipwrecks have the option to spawn in the following Minecraft biomes: ocean, river, and beach. The shipwrecks are underwater in the two earlier biomes and can spawn on land if you are in a beach biome.

If you find a shipwreck, you have the option to find a map box, treasure box, or a supply box. What you want is the card chest that comes with a treasure map that will lead you to a buried treasure chest in the game.

Using the treasure map

When you find a card crate, simply move the card into your inventory and equip it to check the chest's location. This works basically the same as the regular map in the game, on which you can see your current position in the world using the white display.

The treasure map itself also has a red X symbol that indicates where the chest is located. Just go to this location and then dig down to find your buried treasure chest. Once you find it, open it up and make sure you have enough inventory space to carry all that loot back.
