Patch for the German version of World of WarCraft from v1.4.2 to v1.5.0. The update adds the battlefields, among other things.

Patch 1.5 - additional changes

General battlefield changes

  • The option "Enter as a group" has been added to the battlefield queue. The leader of a group (both raid and normal) can now select the option "Enter as a group" to add all group members (up to the maximum number for the respective battlefield) to the queue at the same time, thus guaranteeing entry to the battlefield at the same time.
  • All friendly players are now displayed on the area and mini-map when they are on the battlefield (whether in a group or not).
  • Players who join a battlefield queue will now receive a system message informing them that they have successfully joined the queue.
  • The battlefield queue mini-map icon now shows the elapsed waiting time. In addition, the "seconds display" for the expected waiting time has been removed.
  • Spirit Guides can revive a maximum of ten players at a time.
  • If you go "AFK" (not on the keyboard) in a battlefield, the player loses connection to the game.

Alterac Valley

  • Enemy NPC lieutenants and commanders now give all friendly players an honor bonus.
  • Enemy NPC lieutenants and commanders will not spawn again from now on.
  • Enemy towers are now destroyed rather than captured (one single event per tower). The procedure for destroying a tower is very similar to the previous capture technique.
  • Enemy NPC miners will no longer spawn after being killed.
  • The respawn time for mines has been reduced.
  • All Alterac Valley quest items (e.g. scraps of armor) are zone-bound and are lost as soon as they leave a battlefield instance.
  • Korrak's respawn time has been increased to 30 minutes.
  • NPCs in the entrance tunnel will no longer fight enemy NPCs, only enemy players.
  • Lok'holar the Ice Lord and Ivus the Forest Prince are now (appropriately) friendly towards Horde and Alliance players and will therefore no longer damage friendly players with area spells.
  • Important battlefield events now have sound effects (e.g. when a graveyard is attacked).
  • The quartermasters in the entrance tunnel now have additional items that can be purchased by the player. Depending on your reputation, you can purchase a variety of items from the quartermaster.
  • The NPC captains of the Alliance and Horde now regularly utter a "battle cry", which grants the friendly players on the battlefield a strengthening effect. If you kill an enemy captain, you deny the enemy the possibility of a battle cry.
  • Ivus the Forest Prince now uses the graphic model of a wintry ancient protector.

Warsong Gorge

  • The amount of time flags remain on the ground before automatically returning has been reduced from 2 minutes to 10 seconds.
  • The Boots of Swiftness now have a random spawn timer that varies between 2 and 3 minutes, and the duration of the effect has been reduced to 10 seconds.
  • Warsong Gorge now requires a minimum of 8 players per side to start a new instance. The maximum is still 10 players.

Bug fixes

  • It should no longer be possible to capture a single flag twice in Warsong Gorge (i.e. get a single flag double counted)
  • Corrected a bug in Warsong Gorge where a carried flag would no longer be captured if the bearer was standing on its own flag when it was returned.

Patch 1.5 changes

The battlefields are here!

Warsong Gorge and Alterac Valley battlefields are now available. The entrances to Warsong Gorge are in the northern Barrens near the Mor'shan Ramparts (Horde) and south of the Silverwing Outpost in Ashenvale (Alliance). The entrances to the Alterac Valley are east of the Soferas Headland (Horde) and in the Alterac headland (Alliance).

  • Magic Wands - The ability to shoot with a magic wand can now be toggled on and off. While it is active, the wielded wand continues to be attacked until another action begins (movement, casting spells, using an object, etc ...).
  • The speed of animals has been increased when the player is no longer in a fight and the animal follows its master.
  • Berserker (Trolls Special Skill) - Updated tooltip to explain that this skill can only be used after a melee critical hit.
  • Toughness (special ability of the orcs) - A bug has been corrected that ignored the additional resistances for many abilities.
  • It should no longer be possible to disarm traps from friendly players.
  • PvP

    • The honor system
      • Nefarious murders obtained by killing simple civilian NPCs now have a negative effect on the player's honor. Too many nefarious murders reduce the player's rank all the way down to zero.
      • Players will now see an "Estimated Honor Point Value" (instead of the original Participation Point Value) in their Battle Log for each Honorable Victory. Note: This value does not refer to repeated attacks on the same player, which means a reduction in the points, so the value is only "estimated".
      • "Group Participation Points" have been renamed "Honor".
      • Tool tips have been added to the various elements of the Honor System UI.
      • Players will now find statistics on their victories for the last week in the "Last Week" section of the Honor System UI, even if they did not achieve the 25 Honorable Victories required to receive a placement or rank.
      • Fixed a bug where PvP rewards were not always removing the effect they were supposed to be removing (ex: polymorph, fear, stun).
    • Sedentary characters will now stand up immediately as soon as they are attacked, even if they are stunned.
    • It is no longer possible to change equipment from the inventory during a duel.
    • Duels are now also possible in Everlook.

    • Tree bark - has a new graphic
    • Viper Bite will no longer drain mana from the transformed druid.

    • In the epic hunter quest, some of the demonic corrupters have been improved. Hunters should be careful not to let a character from another class complete the single player part of their quest, as the quest will fail in this case.
    • Lulling Shot - is now correctly affected by the Efficiency and Hawk Eye talents.
    • Anger Unleashed - Fixed a bug where the damage increase was actually lower than indicated in the tooltip. The damage increase should now be done correctly.
    • Growl - Rank 1 effect improved.
    • Volley - damage increased.
    • The speed of animals has been increased when the player is no longer in a fight and the animal follows its master.
    • Removing a dead animal from the barn no longer prevents it from being resuscitated. Players can no longer train more animals than their stable can accommodate.
    • Corrected an issue where the hunter's magical shots too often missed when the target had the protection spell "Blessing of Protection".
    • Spirit healers in battlefields will now revive both the hunter himself and his companion.

    • Mage Armor - Now has a new unique icon.
    • The arcane projectile range has been adjusted when fighting large creatures.

    • Corrected an issue where the hunter's magical shots too often missed when the target had the protection spell "Blessing of Protection".

    • Inner Fire - Now stacks with other effects that increase attack power and armor.
    • Holy Nova cooldown decreased.
    • Feedback - A higher tier of this spell will now replace an existing lower tier spell.
    • Invincible Will - Corrected a bug that caused many abilities to ignore the added resistance.

    • Riposte - Fixed a bug where this ability did not work against unarmed or disarmed targets.
    • Disappear - Should now work better to better dodge attacks such as approaching spells or projectiles.
    • Combo points are removed once the target is dead.
    • No loss of combo points if the target is blinded in a duel.

    • Fixed a bug where the Fire Nova, Flametongue, Stone Claw, and Windfury totems had incorrect level restrictions when cast by a higher level Shaman. All totems are now summoned at wizard level.
    • Flametongue Totem - Tooltip updated to explain that only the weapon of the Weapon Hand is enchanted.
    • Windfury Totem - Tooltip updated to explain that only the weapon of the Weapon Hand is enchanted.
    • Fire Resistance Totem - New Icon.
    • Frost Resistance Totem - New Icon.
    • Grounding Totem - Corrected a bug that allowed some area impact spells to be considered "grounded" and / or to destroy the totem.

    • Improved Mana Drain - Damage is now considered shadow damage and is no longer reduced by armor.
    • Improved Voidwalker - Increases the effectiveness of all Voidwalker spells (including Sacrifice) by 10/20/30%.
    • Improved Succubus - Increases the effectiveness of all Succubus spells by 10/20/30%.
    • Master of Summoning - In addition to the reduced casting time for the Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus and Felhunter, the mana costs are reduced by 20/40%.
    • Improved Demon Slave - In addition to reducing the attack speed penalty and the casting speed penalty, the demon's chance of resistance is reduced by 2/4/6/8/10%.
    • Demon Sacrifice - Is now instantaneous.
    • Improved Flint - Now also improves the fire spell damage bonus of flint by 15/30%.
    • Inferno - Warlocks now retain control of the summoned infernal beast for 5 minutes before it turns against its summoner.
    • Drain Mana - Targets with no mana are no longer valid targets for Mana Drain (Rank 4) to align with the other ranks of the spell.
    • Drain Improved Mana - The damage done by this talent is now increased by the Shadow Mastery talent.
    • Conflagration - Range increased.
    • Siphon Life - Is now instant, damage has been increased.
    • Paranoia - No longer causes a threat.
    • War Thunder (Doom Guard) - Limit 5 or more targets.
    • The companion's speed has been increased when the character is not in combat and the companion is following its master.
    • Honorable Victories will automatically generate Soul Shards when the "Soul Thief" and "Shadowburn" spells are used.
    • Improved Curse of Torment - Fixed an issue where Improved Curse of Torment (Rank 1) was not upgraded from the talent. The talent will now work correctly with all Improved Curse of Agony ranks.
