The SIMON GROUP, with its headquarters in Aichhalden near Schramberg, employs around 750 people. Your companies have been subsidiaries of INDUS Holding AG since 1992. In addition to the main plant in Aichhalden, BETEK operates a production site in Taicang, China and a sales office in the USA.
The four companies in the group operate both independently and jointly on the market.
Production processes in the technology fields of sintering and carbide technology in combination with a high-performance in-house toolmaking facility and a materials laboratory guarantee competitive, technically outstanding products.
Within the group of companies, BETEK produces wear tools and wear protection solutions for machines and systems with applications in mining, road construction, special civil engineering, recycling and also in agriculture. The SITEK company produces studs for tires and similar fields of application, hard metal tools and powders.
Karl Simon GmbH & Co. KG is divided into the business areas Sinterlutions, Tooling and Analytics. SIMON Sinterlutions produces serial molded parts made of metal powder for the automotive industry, power tools and mechanical and plant engineering. With the sintering technology, complex geometries can be produced with high precision while avoiding material-intensive, metal-cutting production steps. SIMON Tooling's own tool shop develops, designs and manufactures in-house tools and also offers its services to external customers. SIMON Analytics is a materials laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which is indispensable for our own quality assurance and also acts as a service provider for external customers.
Many new and further developments of products are created in close cooperation with customers. Numerous patents prove the great innovative strength of the individual companies and business areas. The products are developed with the support of state-of-the-art technologies such as FEM, Design for Six Sigma and Rapid Prototyping and brought to series production. The products of all areas are characterized by excellent quality - as "High-tech Made in Germany".

1925: Karl Simon jr. founds the company. Components for the watch industry are electroplated.

1967: Carbide manufacturing is added to the SIMON range.

1972: Founding of his own sintering technology company.

1981: Establishment of the company BETEK Bergbau- und Hartmetalltechnik.

1989: SITEK, manufacturer of spikes, milling blades and hard metal powder is founded.

1992: The SIMON GROUP companies become subsidiaries of INDUS Holding AG, Bergisch Gladbach.

1995 - 2007: Continuous expansion of the production area.

2008: The group of companies achieves a turnover of 150 million euros, employs around 450 people and continues to expand.

2009: New building for toolmaking in Aichhalden. The toolmaking employees move into the new building with a total area of ​​2,400 m².

2010: The group of companies achieves sales of EUR 170 million and employs 480 people.

2011: The expansion of carbide production at BETEK is in the planning stage.
The name of the company BETEK was changed to BETEK GmbH und Co. KG in April. Larger plant investments and modernization measures in the areas of sintering technology and electroplating technology are also in progress.

2012: Electroplating invests in a new large-scale facility for plastics processing.

2013: At the beginning of the year, managing director Karl Kammerer announced his departure at the end of the year for health reasons. Dr. Frank Thiele will be his successor on October 1st, 2013.

2014: The SITEK company celebrates its 25th anniversary.

2015: The planned production expansion at BETEK is expanded to include the SIMON GROUP. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of two new production halls will take place in March 2015. The BETEK factory hall with office wing will be inaugurated in August with a SIMON GROUP summer party. At the same time, a logistics hall is being built. Both new halls will go into operation in autumn 2015. At BETEK, however, a tool production facility in China is planned to serve the local markets.

2016: At the end of June, the new BETEK production plant in China, near Shanghai, is opened in a festive ceremony.

In addition to the careful analysis of the raw materials supplied, the testing of your own powder mixtures and granulates, as well as the examination of the semi-finished and finished parts as well as the sintered parts are indispensable for quality assurance. The large number of work carried out includes z. B. the measurement of the hardness, determination of the magnetic parameters and the carbon content.
The laboratory equipment includes state-of-the-art equipment, e.g. For example: ICP spectrometers for element analysis, various light microscopes for assessing microstructures, scanning electron microscope with up to 10,000 times magnification, a laboratory attritor for process and product development, a rotary evaporator and laboratory ovens for near-series sintering.
Tests of density, flexural strength and wear, especially in the case of carbide grades, are part of the extensive testing program.

The quality management system practiced is described in our quality management manual on the basis of the ISO 9001 standard based on IATF 16949 and is binding for the entire SIMON GROUP.
